If cryogenics became a real, affordable option (i.e., if you could freeze your body until aging and illnesses were better understood), would you consider it? If so, do you fear you'd miss out on the wisdom that comes with growing old and dying?

I'm actually really into this kind of stuff. I would consider freezing as a way to help myself prevent death rather than freezing myself for like a million years until there's a cure, though. Like they're already doing a lot of research on how they can cool people down when they've have heart attacks and you have a much greater chance of living through all the procedures and stuff because you body doesn't die as quickly when it's cold--which totally makes sense.

I have decided that at any point in my young life if something happens to me, I want to kept alive forever. I don't care what machines they have to put me on or how long I'm in a vegetated coma--I don't want to die EVER. Nobody gets my organs, I am holding on until science can save me. Because I know they're getting there.

Dying is necessary and everything, but that doesn't mean I personally want to do it. Not now anyway. Why not hold on for as long as I can if I'm up for long-term suffering in the event that I have to wait it out until medicine can save me?

As long as I can watch TV I'm good.

OMG YOU GUYS I WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN BREAKING LJ I AM SO PROUD.

http://news.livejournal.com/120286.html

As a number of you reported, a service interruption impaired sending and receiving notifications for a couple of days. This was due to an avalanche of snowflake cookies. We've removed the free snowflake cookie and unclogged the pipeline. Timely notifications should resume shortly.

1. The free snowflake gift that some people found in the gift shop over the weekend wasn't meant to be there; it was a side-effect of code related to the new payment processing and LiveJournal shop backend we've been working on most of this year (and a good portion of which went live in release #59). No user-facing differences were supposed to be noticeable, but this one v-gift was inadvertently added temporarily and marked as free. As part of the upgrading of our payment system, we'll be able to offer free v-gifts in the future, so if you enjoyed having this to send around over the weekend hang tight for a few weeks and we'll have the capability to offer you some more.

2. The snowflake v-gift wasn't the direct cause of the notification issue, but was indirectly the source of these problems. To make a long story short, the notifications caused error messages (since this wasn't supposed to be where it was) that overloaded our queues (for those of you familiar with LiveJournal's backend, it was error-ing out like woah in the schwartz queue). Thanks to some really fast and good work by our engineering department, those errors are no longer happening. Unfortunately, if you change your notification settings to remove v-gift notifications it won't affect the notifications that are already in the queue, only those going forward.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

'CAUSE ON SUNDAY I WAS ALL:

AND THEN SHE GOT 15,000 SNOWFLAKES:

I know I've posted about my celebrity death dreams before but last night I had ANOTHER ONE and this was like a million times worse than all the others because like... it was like REAL TIME. Like I dreamed that I woke up from the night before, and went about my normal morning, then heard the person had died and was like, "WTF NOOOOO" then I went on the Internet to confirm it and it was true and it was like fdkfdkjfdkjfdkjdfkj. Then the rest of the dream was just me going about my day being depressed and watching the news. OMFG my dreams suck.

If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?

Well first I would kill myself.

Second it would probably be Twin Cinema by The New Pornographers:

It's a perfect album. Every single song has been my favorite song at some point. It has variety, it's catchy and listenable but it's not shallow. Not the kind of album you get over after a few listens. It's been out for over 4 years now and it's still in my rotation.

Also "Stacked Crooked" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

I love all of The New Pornographers' other albums to death too, but this one was just so completely perfect. It was like all the epic forces of the band came together and finally meshed perfectly.

LMAO ALSO THE ALBUM COVER TOTALLY MATCHES MY DEFAULT ICON I JUST NOTICED~.

Teeka died at around 8 O'clock. She was all cozy and wrapped up. I've had her almost my whole life and she was so much better than humans. <3 She died with me and hopefully as comfortable as possible. I'm glad she died though even though I'm upset and a mess right now because of it. I've had people and pets die before but I've never watched it happen so closely and it was so horrible. I'm happy that I did but I hope I don't have to do it again for a long time.

That last picture I posted of her is the last one I have. :( I'm never going to forget my kitty.

R.I.P. Teeka. You were the best cat there ever was.
